Reservation hours for May 26 to October 22, 2023. Outside of these hours, you may enter the park without a reservation. In summer 2024, timed-entry reservations are required between May 24 and October 20, and are in addition to your entrance fee. This entrance station has two booths and is generally one of the quieter entrances of the park; however, on busy days you may have a short wait. On the other side of this entrance station you enter the meadows of the Kawuneeche Valley.
Plan to arrive early, wait times to enter the park could be 30 minutes or longer. If you would like to visit destinations located along the Bear Lake Road and arrive before 5 a.m. or after 6 p.m., a timed entry permit is not required.
What time should I go to Rocky Mountain National Park : The best time for hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park is during summer (mid-June to mid-August) when the snow has mostly melted off all the trails. Another great time to hike is in the late spring and early fall when there isn't too much snow on the lower trails and there are fewer people to share the tracks with.
