The American Museum of Natural History
The American Museum of Natural History is the largest natural history museum in the world. Its collection totals over 30 million items. Only the most impressive fraction is on display inside the striking Romanesque Revival building, which was built for purpose in 1888.The Met probably has the broadest appeal: ancient cultures, medieval arms, European Renaissance, the American wing alone is worth much of a day. MOMA is an excellent, though more narrow, collection. The Natural History Museum would be ideal for children or those with little interest in art.Winchcombe meteorite
This rare meteorite is known as carbonaceous chondrite and out of 65,000 known meteorites in the world, only around 1,000 are of this specific type. Getting there: located in the Vault in the Green Zone on the first floor.

While the Louvre, naturally, bests The Met when it comes to French and Italian art, naturally, The Met returns the favor with American, Native American and ancient American items. The Met's arms and armor collection is better and call “decorative arts” even.MoMA is by far the better choice if you have to choose. However, you can take a quick run through the Guggenheim in an hour or so and at least see the architecture. MOMA (or the Met!)
Is MoMA NYC worth it : Definitely would recommend visiting this place – it has a lot to offer and provides a rich snapshot of 20th and 21st century art as well! If Modern art is to your liking ,this is a wonderful stop. On Friday the museum is free from 4-8pm. Try to avoid this time slot if possible.
