What is the structure of the FSC : The FSC International Board of Directors is made up of 12 members elected by the full membership of FSC International. Four members are elected from each of the environmental, social, and economic chambers. Board members are elected for a four-year term and are accountable to FSC's international members.

What are the three pillars of FSC

FSC is based on three pillars that have to be accounted for at the same time: environmental, social and economic.   • FSC 100% All materials used come from responsibly managed, FSC-certified forests.
  • FSC Recycled. The product is made from 100 per cent recycled materials.
  • FSC Mix. The product is made with a mixture of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials, and/or FSC-controlled wood.

The FRC's work to oversee the regulation of statutory auditors is also relevant to the oversight of the accountants more generally, as the regulatory systems often apply to both. The FRC continues to act as a recipient of complaints about professional accountancy bodies.

How trustworthy is FSC : Compared to other types of organisations, consumers have the highest confidence in FSC, which is significantly higher than businesses2 or governments. 62% of consumers who recognise FSC claim they would choose FSC-certified products over non-certified equivalents.

Is FSC ethical : Over time, it has evolved into an ethical imperative, driven by growing awareness of the environmental damage caused by unsustainable forest practices. Consequently, FSC® certification has virtually become a legal requirement, particularly in high-profile projects.

What is the aim of FSC

The Forest Stewardship Council mission is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economically prosperous management of the world's forests. Our vision is that we can meet our current needs for forest products without compromising the health of the world's forests for future generations.

There are 3 'control systems' that FSC certificate holders can use to produce FSC-certified products: transfer, percentage and credit. When produced under the 'percentage system', a product must contain a minimum of 70% FSC-certified input and/or recycled input; the rest (maximum 30%) must be controlled wood.3 labels. 1 mission.
